Melanie E. Mize

Melanie Mize has extensive experience in both the family law and civil arenas. She is equally skilled at advocating in a courtroom and negotiating outside of it.

Melanie helps clients navigate the turbulent waters of family law issues, both in Domestic Relations Court and Juvenile Court. She has a passion for finding a solution that minimizes the impact of litigation on children.

Melanie is also well-versed in landlord-tenant law. She works with owners of rental properties to find effective and efficient solutions to issues that arise with tenants.

Melanie is a Cincinnati native. She attended Norwood High School. She graduated with honors from the University of Cincinnati in 2005. She then went on to pursue a legal education at Salmon P. Chase College of Law where she received her Juris Doctor in 2008.

Melanie is licensed to practice law in Ohio, as well as in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She has successfully completed all necessary Ohio Supreme Court training and is qualified to serve as a Guardian Ad Litem, Parenting Coordinator, and Mediator. Melanie is also collaboratively trained.

Melanie serves as a Community Parenting Coordinator for the Hamilton County Domestic Relations Court. Melanie also regularly volunteers with the Hamilton County Court of Domestic Relations Family Law Clinic.

Melanie lives in Cincinnati with her husband, daughters, and two dogs. She is an avid reader, especially on topics involving brain development of children. She also enjoys travel and home renovation projects. Melanie has volunteered with and served on the Board of Directors of a number of local non-profit organizations.
